‘Creative Mothers’ - An Exhibition at Downstairs at Mother

After four years of working on Creative Mothers, I felt that it was time to bring the project to a close. I’m in a different place in my motherhood now than when I first started, and it felt like the right moment to reflect and celebrate what it has been.

My aim from the beginning was to meet women who were in a similar situation to me - working for themselves in a creative field while also being a mother. Over time, that grew into something really special: a community of 25 women across different creative disciplines, all navigating that same balance in their own way.

It felt important to bring everyone together - to celebrate the project, but also motherhood and creativity more broadly. Mother London felt like the perfect space to do that. We had drinks, music by Born N Bread, and a panel talk with Laxmi Hussain, Corrina Kapur and myself.

It was a really special, unforgettable evening, captured so beautifully by Mariola Zoladz (images) and Landlore (video).
