From Another is a photographic portrait project exploring the deep, lasting bonds between friends who have become like brothers, sisters, and chosen family. As an only child, I’ve never felt without siblings. Throughout my life, I’ve built friendships so meaningful and enduring that they feel like family. This project is inspired by those connections and takes its title from the familiar phrases “brother from another mother” and “sister from another mister.”

I’m looking for people to be photographed with their closest friend and to share a
short story about their relationship.

Who can apply?
· Friends of any age, background, or identity
· Duos or small groups who consider each other chosen family
· People with meaningful, long-term friendships, whether they’ve known each other for years or connected more recently through a shared experience

What’s involved?
· A portrait photography session together 30-45 mins in a London Studio this summer’/autumn ‘26
· A brief conversation about your friendship
· Sharing stories about how you met, how your relationship has evolved over time, what makes your connection special, why you consider each other family

Selected portraits will be paired with personal stories to celebrate the relationships that remind us that family isn’t always defined by blood. You grant permission to use selected images for PR and Award entries (full model release form upon shoot) You will receive 5 images as digital files.

Selected images will be used in connection to the personal project, will appear on Kintzing Licensing but will not be used in commercial context without further discussion, agreement and potential payment.

If you and your chosen family would like to take part, please get in touch with a short introduction and a few words about your friendship below.
